Help Managing Clients

Managing Clients

Clients are the brands or accounts you're reporting on. Each client has its own profile, platform connections, and saved reports.

ℹ️

Creating, editing, and connecting clients requires an Admin or Super Admin role. Members can view and report on clients they've been assigned to.

Creating a client

  1. Click + New Client

The button is in the top-right corner of the Dashboard.

  2. Enter a name and slug

The name is how the client appears throughout the app (e.g. "Catalyst Comms"). The slug is a URL-safe identifier used in share links and exports — it's auto-generated but you can edit it (lowercase, hyphens only, e.g. catalystcomms).

  3. Add optional branding

Logo URL — a link to the client's logo image (used on exported reports). Website — the client's website URL. Accent colour — the primary brand colour used in reports (defaults to Catalyst orange).

  4. Click Create Client

The client appears on your dashboard immediately.

Editing a client

Click the Edit button on any client card. You can update the name, slug, logo, website, and accent colour at any time. Changes apply to all future reports for that client — existing saved reports are not affected.

Platform connection status

Each client card shows two badges:

  • Instagram — shows the connected account handle (e.g. @catalystcomms) when connected, or "Instagram" in grey when not.
  • TikTok — same pattern.

A connected platform means Catalyst can fetch that account's analytics. An unconnected platform will simply show no data for that platform in the report.

Connecting and disconnecting platforms

See Connecting Platforms for the full guide. In brief:

  • Connect Instagram / Connect TikTok — initiates OAuth in the current window
  • Get Connect Link — generates a link you can send to the client so they can connect their own accounts without needing a Catalyst login
  • Disconnect IG / Disconnect TikTok — removes the stored connection. The platform's data will no longer appear in new reports.

Assigning clients to team members

Clients can be restricted to specific team members. This is managed from two places:

  • Dashboard → Manage Access — on each client card, click "Manage Access" to toggle which members can see that client
  • Team page — expand a member's row to add or remove clients assigned to them

Members only see clients explicitly assigned to them. Admins and Super Admins always see all clients.

Tip: When inviting a new member, you can pre-select which clients to assign them during the invite flow — no need to go back and edit it afterwards.
