6A. Anonymised data for platform improvement and predictive features

To improve platform features — including predictive analytics that help users understand and forecast content performance — we may derive anonymised statistical records from social media analytics data processed through the platform.

What anonymisation means: Before any data is used for this purpose, all personally identifiable information is permanently removed, including account names, handles, profile URLs, post URLs, captions, and any other information that could identify a person, account, or organisation. What remains are purely statistical patterns — for example: {platform, content_type, day_of_week, hour_of_day, follower_count_bracket, engagement_rate}. This residual data cannot reasonably be re-linked to any individual or account.

Retention: Anonymised statistical records of this kind are retained indefinitely. Because they do not constitute personal information under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 or other applicable data protection laws, they are not subject to deletion obligations. This means that if you request deletion of your personal data, anonymised statistical records derived from your data may be retained and continue to be used for platform improvement purposes.

Opt-out: You may opt out of having your data contribute to these anonymised records at any time by contacting us at hi@catalystcommunications.com.au with the subject line "Anonymised Data Opt-Out". Opting out will not affect your ability to use the platform, and any data already anonymised prior to your opt-out request cannot be reversed as it is no longer attributable to you.

7. Data deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data and any social media data we hold on your behalf.

🗑️

To request deletion of your data: Email hi@catalystcommunications.com.au with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include your account email address. We will process the request within 30 days and confirm completion.

If you connected a social account (Instagram or TikTok) and wish to revoke access:

You can also disconnect platforms at any time from within the Catalyst Analytics dashboard without contacting us.

8. Cookies and tracking

We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks.

12. International data transfers

We are based in Australia. Your data may be processed and stored in data centres located in Australia, the United States, or the European Union (via our third-party service providers). Where data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
