Account & Security
Keep your account secure by keeping your password strong and enabling two-factor authentication.
Changing your password
-
Go to Settings
Click Settings in the top navigation.
-
Find the Change Password section
Enter your current password, then your new password (minimum 8 characters), then confirm the new password.
-
Click Update Password
You'll see a confirmation message. Your next login will require the new password.
If you've forgotten your current password, sign out and use the Forgot password link on the login page to reset it via email.
Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to your account. After entering your password, you'll also need to enter a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone.
Catalyst uses TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password), which is compatible with:
- Google Authenticator (iOS / Android)
- Authy (iOS / Android)
- 1Password
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Any standard TOTP app
Setting up 2FA
-
Go to Settings → Two-Factor Authentication
You'll see the status banner showing "Not set up".
-
Click Set Up
A QR code and a manual setup key appear.
-
Scan the QR code with your authenticator app
Open your authenticator app, tap the + button, and choose "Scan QR code". Point your camera at the code. If you can't scan it, tap "Enter key manually" in the app and type in the key shown below the QR code.
-
Enter the 6-digit code and click Verify
Your authenticator app shows a 6-digit code that refreshes every 30 seconds. Enter the current code and click Verify.
-
2FA is now active
The status banner updates to show "Authenticator app connected". From now on, you'll be asked for a code when you log in.
Recommended: Enable 2FA on your account, especially if you're an Admin or Super Admin. It significantly reduces the risk of unauthorised access.
Removing 2FA
In Settings → Two-Factor Authentication, click Remove Authenticator. Confirm the prompt. Your account will be protected by password only after removal.
If you lose access to your authenticator app and can't log in, contact your admin or reach out to hi@catalystcommunications.com.au for account recovery.
Signing out
Click Sign Out in the top-right corner of any page. You'll be redirected to the login page. Your session is fully cleared.
Account information
Your email address, role, and account details are shown at the top of the Settings page. To change your email address, ask your admin — they can update it from the Team page.
